Cults - many people believe…go to church…going to Heaven….but little do they know

 

I’M NOT PICKING ON OTHER BELIEFS, I'm simply saying what they believe.

Definition of a cult:  Cults are religious groups who claim compatibility with biblical Christianity, but whose doctrines and practices contradict those of the Bible. Often times people aren't aware of the fact that they are in a cult because they aren't aware of the deception that cults teach. There are specific characteristics to note when it comes to identifying a cult.

Occult - not Christian or compatible with Bible     From the greek occultists, deals with secrets mysteries powers

Ouija boards, tarot cards, palm reading, horoscope.  

    It’s form the devil.  the stars were never intended to tell you anything other than the gospel.  Zodiac.  tHe bible calls the Zodiac the Mazzaroth, God put it there. Aires, the ram.  Virgo, the virgin.  Aquarius, the water of the HS.  The words and the pictures come from Hebrew words of stars.  And the names have to do with the gospel.  And every year you see 12 parts of it going through the sky.  12 was the number of governmental perfection in the Bible.  God has 12 phases of the gospel that goes by every year… That’s all that is.  The devil perverted it.

He warns us, DON’T BE DECEIVED

 

1. Cults deny the deity of Christ

    We believe Jesus is God, God, HS…..he created everything, critics, worshipped, demons, disciples, His Father, all through old and new test as God.  The evidence is overwhelming!  He is God!  If someone says He’s not God, we got a problem!

 

    They’ll say “I’m Christian just like you.  How can someone be a Christian when they don’t worship Christ for He is who HE said He was?!

 

Everything He said is based on the fact that He has to be God.  

“I’m going to die and come back.  I’m going to judge.  I’m going to be worshipped.”  He’s making claims you can only make if you’re God.  Christ himself said, you should worship God only!  If He’s not God, not only is He a liar, His death did not pay penalty for our sins,  He ain’t coming back, He aint in Heaven……this means the whole of the Bible isn’t true and that means we’re still not forgiven!  WE GOT A PROBLEM.

 

Either He’s God, or He’s not!  He can’t be God, AND not God!

 

Christian Science:  Mary Baker Eddie, says “Jesus Christ is NOT God”

    So what do they worship.  Their own mental powers to heal, and her teachings

The Unification Church:  Sun Young Moon - “It is a great error to think Jesus is God”

Mormonism:  Jesus is the spirit child of God, the union between Elohim and Mary

    Mormons believe there are many many Gods…….

JW - Jesus Christ is simply Michael, the archangel

    you shouldn’t worship Him.  They don’t worship Him

 

You are NOT a Christian just like me.  Your God isn’t even the same as mine.

 

Do they have a right to believe what they want?  Sure.  

 

2.  Cults make false claims about Jesus’ activities

    JW say Jesus returned in 1914, invisibly.  If you ask them……

    Mormons in 1820 appeared to Joseph Smith

    The Behia Faith says Jesus came back in 1844 in the form of Bahah Oolah

 

If they say this, and our faith says this……Well somebody’s wrong.

 

And yet they claim to be followers of Christ.  Well what does HE say about it then?

3.  Cults follow a particular person

    Some have cultish relationship with their pastor or church

        not going….my seat….park…I don’t like it when the praise team does this or that

    Don’t believe you have to have “THAT”

    You come here to encounter the living God!

    1 Corinth 3:5-9

    We like Apollas, well we like Paul….Always look bigger

    In cults….they focus on the person.  this person has extra information that you have to have and can only get through them.

    Now for the record….

    I’m a passionate person, I’ll teach you passionately, etc….. but you don’t have to do them.  will you be more blessed if you do them and follow what I passionately encourage you to do……yup!  bc it’s in the Bible that God says!

 

4.  Cults rely on material other than the Bible as their main source.  

 

The church of Scientology -1954 by L. Ron Hubbard

    1954?!!!  Your religion isn’t any older than my parents?  My car is older than your religion!

    He started out writing pulp fiction books, comics, science fiction, etc in the 1930’s

    He wrote the book Dianetics - If you aren’t a Scietologist, you will never achieve the success you want.

    You are rewarded wth power and notoriety by how good you do, how much you pledge, and seniority in the group.

   Plus, each level costs money.  They can clear ur past memories, etc.  

you've already go everything in u, u just need to tap into it and reach "clear"

They've been investigated...

    spiritual enlightenment is the ultimate goal.  At a Scientologists funeral, they speak to the thetan inviting it to move on

    Achieving greatness/happiness/and even healing you have to look no further than your own mind.  Its the study of the mind and the science behind our souls and our existence.

L. Ron Hubbard famous quotes:

The quote that most sticks out to me is this.  You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.

 

Unlike Scientology, The Bible says that it's only through Him that we are saved and HE renews our minds.

There are many of us who need a renewing of our mind today!  We need to surround to God and make Him not only Lord of our lives, but Lord of LIFE!  Make Him ruler over ALL - our minds, our thoughts, our anxiety, our thoughts of negativity, of depression, etc. The Bible says we can be healed and set free.   Either the Bible is true, or it's not.
